At Cosmetology Clinic in Liverpool, we use the medical-grade Duetto MT laser system, combining Alexandrite 755nm and Nd:YAG 1064nm technology.
Having access to both wavelengths allows us to select the most appropriate laser and settings for your individual skin tone, hair type and treatment area.
We treat men across the face and body, including the back, shoulders, chest, stomach, neck and beard line. Every course begins with a professional consultation and test patch.
Some men want to remove unwanted hair, while others simply want very dense growth to become thinner and easier to manage. Shaving larger areas such as the chest, stomach or back can be difficult and time-consuming. Waxing can be uncomfortable, requires regular appointments and allows the hair to grow back between treatments.
Laser hair removal provides a longer-term approach by targeting suitable pigmented hairs within the follicle.
You can choose a single area or combine several areas within one personalised course.
The exact treatment boundaries will be agreed before starting. This is particularly important when shaping areas such as the beard line, chest or shoulders, where you may want a natural transition rather than complete hair removal.
The back and shoulders are among the most popular treatment areas for men. Hair in these areas can be difficult to reach and manage without help. Shaving can result in quick regrowth, while maintaining regular waxing appointments becomes expensive over time.
Laser treatment can significantly reduce suitable back and shoulder hair, making the area easier to maintain. Some men want the back and shoulders treated together to create a more balanced result. Others may include the upper arms or full upper body within their plan.
Because these are larger areas, appointments will take longer than treatments for the neck or beard line. We will explain the likely appointment time and recommended course during your consultation.
Male chest and stomach hair varies considerably in thickness and density.
Some men want to remove most visible hair, while others prefer a general reduction that maintains some natural growth. Laser settings and treatment planning can be adjusted around the result you want to achieve. The chest and stomach can be treated separately or together. Treatment may also be combined with the shoulders, back or upper arms as part of a full upper- body plan.
We will carefully agree the boundaries of each area to help ensure the finished result looks natural and balanced.
Frequent shaving around the neck can cause irritation, redness and uncomfortable ingrown hairs. Hair may also grow beyond the preferred beard line, requiring almost daily maintenance to create a tidy appearance. Laser can reduce suitable hair around the neck, cheeks and beard line. This may make the beard easier to shape and reduce the frequency of shaving.
Beard-line treatment requires careful planning because laser reduction is intended to be long-lasting. We will agree precisely which hairs should be targeted before treatment begins. Laser can also be used to reduce overall beard density in suitable patients, but the expected appearance and treatment boundaries must be considered carefully.
The Duetto MT uses powerful cold-air cooling throughout treatment.
This helps cool and protect the surface of the skin while laser energy is delivered. No messy treatment gel is required.
You may feel warmth or a brief snapping sensation. Comfort levels vary between individuals and treatment areas.
The Duetto MT combines two established laser wavelengths.
Alexandrite 755nm Alexandrite technology is particularly effective for suitable lighter skin tones with pigmented hair. The wavelength targets pigment within the hair follicle, allowing controlled energy to damage its ability to produce future growth.
Nd:YAG 1064nm Nd:YAG technology penetrates more deeply and has lower absorption by the pigment within the skin. This makes it particularly useful when treating suitable darker and Black skin tones. Your skin, hair and treatment area will be assessed before the appropriate wavelength and settings are selected.

Hair grows in cycles, and laser can only effectively target a hair when it is in the appropriate active growth phase.
At any one appointment, only a proportion of hairs will be at this stage. Treatments must therefore be repeated at planned intervals to target different hairs as they enter active growth.
With each successful session, you should begin to see less regrowth and a reduction in hair thickness.
The number of treatments required varies between patients. Facial and hormonally influenced hair may respond differently from body hair and can require ongoing management.
Laser treatment is intended to produce long-term or permanent hair reduction rather than guarantee complete and permanent removal of every hair.
Once a follicle has been successfully disabled, it may no longer produce a hair. However, hormonal changes, medication, pregnancy, menopause, ageing and medical conditions can stimulate new hair growth from other follicles.
Occasional maintenance may therefore be beneficial, particularly for hormonally influenced facial hair.
At Cosmetology Clinic, your treatment includes:
Laser can significantly reduce suitable coarse, pigmented facial hair. Because PCOS can stimulate new growth, additional or maintenance treatments may be required.
No. Waxing, plucking, threading and epilating remove hair from the follicle. Shaving is normally recommended instead.
Yes. Several face or body areas can be combined within a personalised treatment plan.
No treatment can guarantee complete permanent removal of every hair. Laser is intended to achieve long-lasting or permanent hair reduction, with results varying between patients.
